Location & Accommodation
During my trip to Slovenia I booked a centrally located apartment to go on day trips and hikes from. This apartment is located in a small town close to Bohinj lake. The apartment seemed to have recently been renovated as everything was very modern and in great shape. It truly has everything you may need, down to slippers to wear inside the house. There seemed to be three apartments behind the house of the owner and you have access to the backyard as well. Though you are on their property, it still felt very private. We stayed here for five nights and they even brought clean towels in the middle of our stay. It is on the first floor only accessible by stairs though. The apartment is also divided over two floors with the bedrooms being upstairs. The drive to the nearest supermarket is around 7 minutes and you'll find a handful of restaurants here as well.​
Overall experience
We stayed at this apartment in October of 2025 and absolutely loved our stay here! It's close to many different highlights and hikes. The bedrooms were spacious and the kitchen really is state of the art. We didn't use the outdoor area at all, but I can imagine the outdoor kitchen and seating is amazing in summer. The check in process was easy and the owner was very friendly towards the dogs. There's plenty of parking in front of the apartment and it's a very quiet area. The overall state of the apartment really was incredible as everything seemed quite new. The shower here was also amazing! It really had everything we needed from a dishwasher with dishwashing tabs to good and reliable WiFi. On our last night in the apartment we were even treated to some warm chestnuts.

Indoor space
The apartment is divided over two floors with two spacious bedrooms upstairs. Downstairs you'll find a hall with space to store jackers and shoes, as well as the bathroom. From the hall you enter the living room / kitchen. The kitchen has literally everything you may need for cooking. The dining table is very nice and spacious enough for 4 people. The couch is very comfy, but rather small for the amount of people that could stay in the apartment.
Outdoor space
In front of the apartment there's a couple of parking spots and towards the back of the house there is an outdoor kitchen and some garden space / outdoor seating. We didn't use it during our stay as the temperatures were rather low and the days were getting shorter as well. Though it did look very comfortable and perfect for summer.
Dog friendly amenities
Facilities & area
The dogs really enjoyed their stay here. It's a spacious apartment with plenty of space for them to relax. The only downside is that the street the apartment is on, is not very walkable (at least not when it's dark out). If you'd walk a little further out of town, you'd find plenty of green space though. As we were out during the days, I only walked the dogs after dinner in the small village which wasn't too comfortable.
Pet policy
I paid 10 euros per night per dog, which I do think is a little excessive. But the apartment is definitely worth it. There weren't any specific rules regarding the dogs and there weren't any specific supplies for the dogs either (we brought them ourselves), but the dogs had no issues relaxing in this place!
