Location & Accommodation
In December of 2022 I traveled to Scotland with my family and our three huskies and our first stay of our trip was this AirBnB close to Edinburgh. We stayed here for four nights. The house is located on the property of the family who owns it, but it feels very private. The views from the house are beautiful and there's a spacious garden, as well as, a few walking trails right next to the house. There's not many houses around this area and it's therefore very quiet. The cabin is very spacious and perfect for a family / group of four. It is relatively remote, you definitely need a car to get here and there's not much close by in terms of supermarkets. There used to be a small cafe ran by locals very close by which we absolutely loved, but unfortunately it seems they closed and there's an antique store instead. ​
Overall experience
We stayed at this AirBnB just after Christmas and it was the perfect beginning of our trip. The house is located about an hour drive away from Edinburgh, which we visited one of the days we were staying here. The house is located on a big open property with its own private garden (which is not fenced in), we refrained from letting the dogs go off leash as there are also horses on the property. The nature is absolutely stunning and the views are quite magical especially at sunset. The house has a spacious living room with a fire place and lots of rooms for the dogs to chill. On top of that, there is a separate kitchen / dining room space. The cabin was in good shape, the furnishings were quite simple, but perfect for a getaway in the middle of nature. It had everything we needed for our stay. Furthermore, the hosts were super friendly and responsive! We had some issues with the wifi connection on our first day, but they came to help us right away. They also left us some small Christmas presents, snacks and two adorable Christmas style drinking cups, which was super lovely.​

Indoor space
The cabin has one floor and you'll find a living room, kitchen / dining room, two bedrooms and a large bathroom. It's very accessible for dogs and our dogs absolutely loved the living space as there's carpet here and Hunter found a comfy pillow to sleep on. The bedrooms also have carpet, but the rest of the house has wooden flooring. The kitchen / dining room is also super spacious and has a little seating area with fire place as well.
Outdoor space
The outdoor space is really nice! There's a lovely garden with some furniture, which we didn't end up using due to the cold / wet weather. But my youngest husky would often relax in the garden on a long leash. It's very easy to go on a nice walk straight from the property as there's loads of forest area and beautiful views around the house. As mentioned before, you will find animals on the property (horses and sheep).​​

Facilities & area
We absolutely loved our stay here. The cabin had everything we needed and even with the cold temperatures outside it stayed warm and cozy inside. The beds were comfy, the kitchen had everything we needed to cook and there was a fire place with wood provided. We did all of our groceries for the days we'd be here right before checking in, so we didn't need to go to the supermarket during our stay. However, there is a town about 15 minutes away with several supermarkets. Pet policy
I don't recall having to pay extra for bringing our three huskies along for this trip. We did bring all our dog supplies ourselves, but there was a small dog bed in the living room. With all the access to nature and outdoor space, this really is an amazing dog friendly stay.
