Interlaken, Switzerland

Overview
Location & Accommodation
This dog friendly farm stay near Interlaken was a great base to explore the region from. It's located in the middle of the mountains and surrounded by farm fields. every direction you look you're met with incredible views. The cabin is on the land of a family owned farm, but it feels quite private as you're a very steep road away from the actual farm. You pretty much have access to the entire house and to the grass fields behind the house. It's not properly fenced in, so my dogs stayed on leash at all times. There's lots of cows around and you'll hear the cow bells ringing from the distance. Which was a lovely sound. The cabin can't be reached by car if you do not have a 4x4. However, one of the farm workers brought our stuff up with her car and we were able to park our car down by the steep road.
Overall experience
We stayed at this cabin for two nights in May. It's a beautiful drive up to the cabin if you're coming from Interlaken. Every time we drove from or to the cabin I was just amazed by the landscape, it's absolutely stunning. The grass fields behind the cabin are super nice to roam with dogs (unless your dog has a 100% recall, I'd recommend keeping them on leash as they often walk their cows up and down the mountain). During our stay the temperature was really nice and we didn't need any heating (which wasn't really an easy system to understand). Overall, we really enjoyed our stay as it was super secluded, we were treated by beautiful views and everything we needed was in the house. The cabin is not in top shape, slightly outdated, but honestly what else would you expect from a farm stay! Communication was easy via AirBnB and we were even able to order fresh eggs from the farm in the morning (only cash though!). Please note the cabin does not have wifi.

Indoor space
The house has two bedrooms, but we used the master bedroom on the ground floor and one of the smaller beds in the living room area. On top of that you'll find a spacious bathroom, a kitchen/dining area and a living room with couch. The kitchen has everything you need, a large fridge and decent freezer and everything you need to cook meals. It took us a little while to figure out how the stove worked though. During our stay the weather was quite nice and we didn't use any heating. The tiles in the kitchen/dining area can feel a little cold when you're walking around on socks though. But the rest of the house is pretty much has wood flooring. The beds were quite comfy and made when we arrived, (dish) towels were provided. Although we had to wait till the next morning to get our towels. The cabin has no wifi, but my 5G signal worked perfectly fine. The space was clean enough for us, but don't expect a 100% highly clean place. It is a farm stay, so you will very likely come across some bugs in the house.
Outdoor space
The outdoor space is incredible. Although it's not properly fenced in and I kept my dogs on a leash, exploring the grass fields with the beautiful views over the mountains was truly amazing. The cabin itself also has a porch on two sides, which is great if you want to enjoy the sun as much as possible. In the distance you'll see cows grazing and occasionally you'll witness the farm workers walk their cows up and down the mountain. The walk up to the cabin is also surrounded by iron wire so the cows stay in their lane. Be mindful to close it behind you when you leave the cabin (when it was originally closed). The road up to the cabin from the farm is very steep and not reachable by a non 4 wheel drive car (trust me I tried, with no luck). So if you're going away for the day, you'll have to walk up and down the road to reach your car. Farm workers did deliver our stuff to the cabin when we arrived. It is therefore not the most accessible place to stay.

Facilities & area
I absolutely loved this farm stay, it is a perfect place to explore the Interlaken region from with your dog. Surrounded by beautiful nature. My dogs loved roaming around the property (they loved the smell of cows and their poop..). You will find cow poop in the grass field, so if your dog enjoys eating it or rolling in it, you might want to keep them on a short leash. I brought a long line as well, so they could have some freedom around the cabin. There's also a really nice hiking path down by the farm next to the stream. However, anytime we left the cabin we took the car out to get to all the spots we wanted to explore.
Pet policy
I brought two of my dogs with me on this trip, but I'm not sure if there is a max amount of dogs allowed. We didn't pay an extra fee.
