Lurs, France

Overview
Location & Accommodation
This lovely accommodation in the heart of the Provence is located in a very small town called Lurs. We specifically were looking for our own place with a swimming pool when booking this vacation and this accommodation was a very affordable option. It's a very basic place with two seperate cabins, one used for the living room / kitchen and one used as a bedroom (which has AC!) and a modern bathroom in the middle. On top of that it has a fairly large private pool in the garden The accommodation is close to lots of highlights in the Provence. We had the entire house & garden to ourselves, which was the biggest benefit. The owner helped us find the property and helped us get all checked in. There are no supermarkets or restaurants located close to the accommodation, but Lurs is 15 minute drive from Forcalquier which has everything.
Overall experience
We stayed at this AirBnB for two weeks in late August and truly enjoyed our stay here. The outdoor space is great in summer and the pool was very refreshing. We enjoyed the privacy of the place and the beautiful views over the pastures. The owner of the house came by once or twice to clean the pool during our stay, but other than that we were left to ourselves. We had some issues with the electricity due to heavy rainfall, but the owner was always super quick to respond and help out! The cabins are not at all luxurious, they have everything you need, but are quite basic. As they are cabins in nature, insects are a bit more common. But this was fine to us. As for the dogs, they loved being able to spend lots of time in the garden. It is however not enclosed, so we had them on long leashes (15 meter). It does get very warm in the cabins, but the bedroom has an airconditioner which works very well.

Indoor space
The accommodation has one living room cabin with a full fridge and kitchen. We brought our own Skottle and did lots of the cooking outside, because it gets quite warm in the cabin. There is also a BBQ you can use. The living room also has a small dining table and some comfortable seating. The other cabin has three beds, 2 singles and 1 double. The double bed was super comfortable, but my sister who slept in one of the single beds didn't find the mattress that comfortable. The bedroom has several fans and an airconditioner which is definitely a must in summer. In between the two cabins is the sanitary unit with a separate toilet from the shower/sink. Both are very well maintained and modern. The accommodation has WiFi which worked pretty good during our stay. The space was clean enough for us, but don't expect a 100% highly clean place. Keep in mind that you do have to bring all of your dog's supplies (beds, bowls etc).
Outdoor space
We absolutely loved the outdoor space. Between the two cabins there's a big table with chairs were we dined every evening. On top of that there are two sun beds and some more outdoor furniture that we had placed on the grass and where we would sunbathe and have breakfast in the morning. The pool is very chill, it was big enough for me to put my SUP board in. The water is not heated and can therefore be a bit chilly after a rainstorm. The accommodation is at the far end of the property and therefore very quiet. There is a walking path that goes behind the cabins though, but we rarely saw anyone.

Dog friendly amenities
Facilities & area
The house is great for a trip with dogs with a large garden, quiet area and lots of places close by for your dog to cool off / swim (reachable by car / car recommended). As the area is not fenced, we didn't let the dogs roam free (they are huskies after all), but with two very long leashes they were more than fine. We'd sometimes hear a dog barking in the distance or sometimes see people walking around the neighbourhood with their dogs, but overall you'd barely see other animals.
Pet policy
I don't remember there being any specific rules regarding the dogs or extra charges. We brought two huskies and let them know in advance we would be bringing them and they were very welcoming.
